Who knew the dreary, fluorescent-lit basement of the engineering hall would set the scene for the start of a beautiful life-long love story? We met as seniors in college in the spring of 2016. In true Friends-to-Lovers fashion, our platonic relationship quickly blossomed into romance. Within a month of dating we were already meeting parents and visiting each other’s home towns, and that was just the beginning of our narrative arc. In the whirlwind of years that followed, between the two of us, we’ve had seven addresses, lived with nine roommates, started five new jobs, celebrated eighteen birthdays and three graduations, and adopted one dog.
At times, our story felt like a fantasy. At other times, a romantic comedy, science fiction, or even an apocalyptic thriller. Our steadfast partnership has been the one constant we’ve been able to rely on throughout a myriad of plot twists and turns. We are grateful to have each other as co-authors of our love story, and grateful for the support of our dearest friends and family, especially as we thoughtfully conclude the last ten years and prepare to start this brand-new chapter.
